🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day!

As our nation celebrates 250 years, we’re reminded that every generation has the opportunity to leave the next one better than they found it.

This year is also a milestone for us at A Home For Me as we celebrate 10 years of Journey Camp—ten summers of creating spaces where kids from hard places can laugh, heal, build friendships, and discover they are deeply loved.

We’re grateful for the freedom to serve, the community that makes this work possible, and the countless volunteers, donors, caregivers, and partners who have helped write the Journey Camp story over the past decade.

Today, we celebrate our country. And we look forward to celebrating 10 incredible years of Journey Camp with all of you later this summer.

Happy Fourth of July! ❤️🤍💙

to an incredible act of generosity from the women of Brookwood Church 💛

During their recent Women’s Conference, they collected hygiene products, underwear, sheets, and fast food gift cards for teens connected to DSS — practical items that communicate dignity, comfort, and care during difficult seasons.

At A Home For Me, we talk often about meeting real needs in real ways… and this was exactly that.

To the women of Brookwood: thank you for showing up for vulnerable teens with such intentional kindness. Your generosity made a difference far beyond the conference walls.

Governor Henry McMaster has declared May as Foster Care Awareness Month in South Carolina to highlight the important role that foster parents, kinship caregivers, child-placing agencies, and supporting non-profits play in working together with families to achieve reunification for children and youth in foster care. The collaborative efforts, as part of the larger child and family well-being community, are essential to strengthening families in South Carolina.
