Hey who has an old pc?
Intel is on it's 14th generation of CPU's based on "core" desktop.
the i3,i5,i7, and now i9 CPU's.
If on an Intel platform you can check your current version.

here's a quick way:
step 1: You press the "shift" "Ctrl" and "ESC" at the same time.
step 2: when task manager pops up, click on the performance tab, (it's under View on the menu)
step 3: With CPU selected on the left, (should be there by default)
your cpu is identified up top, with specs down below.
intel generation is the thousandths number after the i3 or i5 or i7
for instance an i7-5930K is 5th generation... pc was made for Windows 7.
