Melting the base
Cut the soap base into small cubes-pieces. It's easy to do with a regular knife.

Melt in a water bath, stirring constantly so that the base does not stick together. Even if this happens, do not be afraid – just here, in the container in which you melt the base, cut the stuck layer with a sharp knife and continue to melt.

Many soap makers use a microwave, I also like to speed up the process. And cleaner in the kitchen. You can put a porcelain, glass glass with a base in the microwave, even a simple plastic one will do if you have already adjusted to the temperature regime and can adjust the power.
