LET’S MAKE A GOWN!!

I haven’t documented a project in awhile, so here we go!! From design to pattern to real life!

It’s been a long time since I have done something this intricate, and the real challenge has been trying to do this with my current medical issues. Sjogren’s and Rheumatoid arthritis make draping and detail work less than fun - but like my dad would always say, “If you don’t use it, you lose it”.

“Night of 1000 J-Lo’s”

Jennifer Lopez’ gown was made by Zuhair Muhad. I couldn’t find a mesh fabric that had a similar pattern, and there wasn’t time for me to appliqué velvet to make the branches - so I made the gown in velvet and n**e mesh - and Orion Story made the branches with thousands of rhinestones set by hand. I’m so proud of how this turned out.

Back to the drawing board!!!! Quite literally. LOL.
