As a new parent and an educator, all I can think about is my character…

Is there a better description—a better bar to set—for a parent/teacher than this? If you want to teach your kids/students, it’s not going to be with words. It’s not going to be with lectures. It’s going to be through showing them that you live according to the rules you set and the values you are trying to tell them are important.

Remember, your living is teaching…

Courage is rare enough, but heroism is that rarer form of courage, the one that is so powerful we have trouble staring it directly in the face.

Each of us has our own skills, our own set of experiences and insights. We each receive our call. If we don’t answer it, then we deprive the world of something. Our failure of courage ripples out beyond us, into the lives of other people.

The belief that an individual can make a difference is the first step. The next is understanding that you can be that person.

If not now, when? If not you, then who?
I challenge you (and myself), take the leap of faith…
be the right person for the right job.
