This is sisterhood.
The importance of safety in relationships.
Having people in your life who know you well enough to remain grounded and offer the reminders you already know within yourself.
It’s why we choose to grow together.
Learn together.
Be honest together.
It’s why we heal the wounding.
So that when another layer surfaces, you don’t have to be alone.

As a facilitator in deep medicine work, I learn of the deepest darkest traumas for many. I learn how people cope. How they respond. How they react. How they dissociate. How they hide. I learn what lights them up. What brings them joy. What provides safety and love. One of my greatest responsibilities isn’t receiving this information, it’s what I do with it. It’s how I hold it. It’s how I support when activations arise.
I once shared the heaviest darkest trauma of abuse with someone I thought I could trust. Only for them to step into deep betrayal and turn it against me when our relationship met a challenge. This was one of the most painful experiences and a tough lesson because this was a client turned friend.
This experience HAD to strengthen my boundaries in work, AND in how I work with my feelings in relationships. Countless lessons came from this experience and for that I am grateful.
When someone confides in you, when someone shares what they are navigating, when someone shares their pain and trauma, you do not hold that to use against them later.
That would be a deep wound reflected in you.
Instead, when you witness someone activated in their pain, remain a safe space when tough conversations are needed.
You might have to hold some boundaries, and that is ok, but it is healing for both parties when someone is able to authentically fall apart and be seen, held, and heard by an external safe presence.
