Located at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge in Sausalito, the Bay Area Discovery Museum features outdoor and indoor exhibition spaces and programming for children. The design team worked to develop an approach that paid homage to the historic grove of eucalyptus trees on site—inspired by everything from the seed pods peppered around the ground plane to the tapering form of the leaves.

Tyler Mohr is an Associate and has been with Surfacedesign For 6 years.

Parallel to working at Surface, Tyler teaches 1st and 2nd semester drawing & representation for Landscape Architecture students at The UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design.

In his free time he enjoys tinkering with guitars and Synthesizers as well as hanging out with his dog Sunny.

H A B I T A T : Our project for the Expedia HQ in Seattle is the backdrop and medium for wildlife to thrive. Thanks to the hives, installed by the Port of Seattle, and the extensive perennial plantings, bees are finding the resources they need to flourish. ⁠
