We are bringing back a highly requested event: Ink Swatching! For both beginners and hobbyists! Sign up at happyhues.shop or in our bio’s link.

Join us at Happy Hues for an ink swatching session where you will have access to try over 100 of our colors from Wearingeul, Tono & Lims, Kitty Ink Pot, Dominant Industry, and other brands; we are the only physical store in Seattle that offers these brands! This is a 2-hour long session, great for those who are new to the hobby and want to learn more about fountain inks, fine writing and how they interact with different papers— also great for those who are deep in the hobby and want to test colors live. What comes with the session:

✦ Each session is bookable by a max of 4 people for an intimate experience; invite your friends to the same session or meet new friends!
✦ You will have access to different fountain pen papers to test. If relevant, you may bring your own sketchbook or paper to test on too!
✦ You will have access to a 40mm metal nib, glass nib, and swatching rod.
✦ The session will be catered to your experience level, your paper preferences, and favorite colors; if no preference, we will suggest options to you. The session can also be more hands on or off, whichever you prefer.

Sessions are hosted at the Happy Hues shop in Seattle July 25–26.

Last weekend to junk journal with us!

This is beginner to intermediate friendly— walk-ins are welcome so join us to journal! For a one time entry fee, journalers have unlimited access to supplies like glue, paper, memo pads, sticky paper, washi tape, loose stickers, sticker sheets, sticker rolls, and tips/recs from our crafty team; we have tons of bins with supplies! Just come any time during opening hours.

Or for the journalers that want a more intimate experience or are only available after 5PM, you can reserve a session on our website; see link in bio. The ticket fee is the same so reservations are at no additional cost.

WHAT TO BRING:
🌟 A journal or sketchbook, if you don’t have one, we will provide paper
🌟 (Optional) Any other supplies such as stationery, receipts, photos, tags, magazines, other paper goods

One time $20 ticket entry. Anyone with a ticket will also get a coupon to the store for a discount on ALL junk journaling related items.

AGE LIMIT:
Due to the size of our store, every seat requires a purchased ticket and all participants must be at least 13 years old. Attendees ages 13 to 17 must be accompanied for the entire event by a parent or legal guardian who has also purchased their own ticket to participate alongside them. We cannot do drop-offs or offer standing room for non-participating observers.

This just in, the OOH AAH Art Book! A collection of artwork, stories, and work in progress by different artists (many of them have their artwork in our store)! Curated by OOH AAH

Kitty Inkpot is finally arriving to our store on June 20th! They an independent ink studio based in China, known for their vibrant multi-chroma shading fountain pen inks. We are currently the first North American retailers that carry them!

We carry select colors from seasons 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. We also carry some colors from their First Anniversary, Summer 2025, Autumn 2025, and Kitty Island Collection. More swatch photos to come.

Note for those that previously requested inks through our in person form, we have emailed you all the details. If you made a request but did not receive an email, please reach out to us and we can get it sorted out.
