For 50 years, the Washington State Catholic Conference has helped Catholics in Washington bring the Gospel into public life — not as a matter of politics, but as a witness to human dignity, mercy, justice, and the common good.

In this 50th Anniversary reflection, Bishop Thomas Daly of the Diocese of Spokane reminds us that faithful advocacy begins with our call to serve Christ in those most in need: the unborn, the poor, the immigrant, the marginalized, and all who need mercy and care.

The WSCC’s mission continues because the work of protecting life, serving the vulnerable, and building a more just Washington is not finished.

May we continue this work with courage, compassion, and a shared commitment to the Gospel.
