Hopping on the trend! Sue me!!

It’s 2016 and these are my doodles! I’m working as an assistant in late night TV. I start this Instagram as an outlet for my creative frustration. My technical drawing skills are lacking but that doesn’t matter. It’s just FUN. My friend Shelby helps me come up with the account name . My following consists of Shelby, my mom, and a smattering of supportive coworkers. I have no idea I’ll go on to do this for a living. All I know is I feel more alive when I’m making things.

It was a simple time! The heyday of the static image! Justin Bieber was topping the charts for this very song. I drew hairbrushes and porcupines and had a friend from work take that moody black and white picture at the end after I got my first cartoon published in a magazine (My Mind & Me, Narrative Mag), and they asked for a headshot.

A decade later, and I can’t believe how much has changed. My mind is still all over the place, but I’m grateful for the ideas it occasionally captures and gets to bring to life.
