My name is Jenny and I am the owner and provider of Pumpkin Patch Daycare. We are a boutique West Seattle daycare focused on nurturing curiosity, compassion, security, and confidence in children ages 18 month and older, in a welcoming, family-like environment. As a mother myself, I know how hard it is to find someone you trust to take care of our little ones. To this end, it is my top priority to
make your child feel like the space we share is their home-away-from-home. From the moment they walk in and hang their coats in their personized cubby, to seeing their photos and art work hanging on our walls, their sense of belonging is reinforced everywhere. Pumpkin Patch Childcare is located at 4411 SW Genesee Seattle, WA (just a few blocks NW from West Seattle’s Alaska Junction) in a newly renovated home dedicated to the care of children and their growth. Our operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 5:30pm. To inquire about tuition and availability, or if would like to request a copy of our Parent Handbook or schedule a visit, feel free to reach me at [email protected]. I can’t wait to hear from you! High-Quality Care:
Pumpkin Patch Childcare is a Family Home Child Care licensed by the State of Washington specializing in care for children ages 18 months and older. We offer a safe and nurturing environment for children supported by an educational and professional background in Early Childhood Development. Both myself and my assistant are fully qualified with STARS training, current CPR/First Aid certification, and complete background checks. We stay up-to-date with on-going training through the Department of Early Learning. Learning Through Play:
At Pumpkin Patch, we provide each child with opportunities to grow while engaging with their surroundings. We encourage imagination and creativity, as well as cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development through interactive play. Daily activities include music, dancing, art, theatre, story time, letters and numbers activity pages, sensory play, and lots of outdoor time. Our fully-fenced outdoor space offers children ample room to run and explore a variety of outdoor activities including cars, a giant chalk wall, a clubhouse, and soccer balls with a goal for them to kick their hearts out! Weather permitting, we use our outdoor space daily. Size Matters:
As a mother and second-generation childcare provider, I believe children thrive best when in small, tight-knit groups. It is for this reason that I only take 8 children at a time. I have found that any more than 8 children can be overwhelming and hinder potential. It’s very important to me that each child has the space they need to build confidence, grow independence, feel safe, and share their love and compassion with others. Pumpkin Patch is an intimate, home-like setting, unlike what you might find at a larger daycare center. We are close with our families and we like it that way! Health and Safety:
Health is important to us at Pumpkin Patch. As a City of Seattle Meal Program participant, we offer nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and both AM and PM snacks prepared with local and organic ingredients. For those with eating restrictions and/or allergies, I happily offer alternative foods to accommodate dietary requirements. Our fully-fenced outdoor green space is free of harmful chemicals and pesticides to ensure zero exposure to our kids or deterioration to the environment. Our Response to COVID-19:
The health and safety of the children in our care is our top priority. As such, Pumpkin Patch Childcare follows special COVID-19 health and safety protocols which are developed based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and direction from state and local public authorities. Pumpkin Patch Childcare has always operated with stringent health and hygiene, cleaning and disinfecting, and illness exclusion policies because regular health and hygiene practices provide some of the best defenses against the spread of contagious illnesses. In response to the increased challenges of COVID-19, we have implemented the following enhanced protocols:
Enhanced Health and Hygiene Protocols:
- Daily temperature and health check conducted upon arrival.
- Face coverings worn by myself and my assistant.
- Frequent cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch surfaces, toys, and laundered items.
- Enhanced COVID-19 exclusion policy restricting access in the event of a suspected or known exposure.
