Who knew that wiping out—hard—on ice (twice!) in April 2021…
would leave me lying in the snow, clutching my knee, wondering…is my athletic career over? 😩
In that moment, I made a promise to my body:
If you’re not broken… I’ll do better by you.
I’ll stop forcing you to survive on icy winter trails, and start finding places where you can thrive.
I kept that promise. ❤️
Since then, my family and I have spent winters training, working, and living in Costa Rica, Mexico (both coasts), Seattle - so I could be with my father in his final chapter - southern Spain, and now northern Spain.
What started as fear…
became a complete redesign of how I live, train, and show up.
Because resilience isn’t just about grit.
It’s about awareness. Ownership. And the willingness to evolve.
That lesson is no longer just part of how I train…
it’s at the core of what I’m here to share.

Came all the way to Croatia to carry a sandbag through a fortress, get spanked by a slackline, attempt to swim whilst straddling a log, and swallow half of the Adriatic Sea…all for this shiny medal! 😁
(No plaque and big check for me this week, but the views and people were totally worth it!) Thank you, , for epic experiences so that I can tell my grandkids wild stories someday about the crazy sh*t I used to do! 😆
Until then…I’m heading back home to shower Taylor’s little face with kisses and give Tim some time to relax…and celebrate his birthday! ❤️
Excellent work to all who took part in the Sprint World Championship (especially those who podiumed…how in the world do you train for a race like? Take a log to your local pool and jump in with your shoes on?)! 😆
