Preventive genomic medicine can identify people with inherited cancer risk. Unfortunately, infrastructure to support people with inherited cancer syndromes is limited and people cannot always follow recommended risk management plans. HPRC investigator Sarah Knerr has received a 5-year, $4.6M award from the National Institutes of Health to investigate methods to improve adherence to risk management after cancer genetic testing.

This week, HPRC Research Scientist Lesley Steinman was awarded the Gilbert S. Omenn Award for Academic Excellence. This award is presented to only one graduating doctoral student in the UW School of Public Health each year and is the most prestigious student award within our School.
