'An Evening With Duke Ellington' features 25 stunning performances by Duke and his Orchestra at the height of their powers. Recorded December 11th 1943 this concert is considered amongst the best of Ellington’s performances and is sure to be enjoyed by any fan of the Duke or Big Band music in general. Because this is a war time performance, 'The Star Spangled Banner' is included. Unlike many concert albums that are edited down to include only certain tracks, this set features the concert in its entirety, including lots of interesting banter from Ellington himself.
