The new Living space of the Thunderhead Residence incorporates large accordion doors which allow the interior spaces to be completely opened to the expansive new deck, allowing the residents to move seamlessly between the indoor and outdoor space and creating a sense that the interior space is amongst the surrounding trees.

The simple yet elegant form of the High Desert Cabin is economical to construct while providing a variety of ways to open up the interior to experience the natural surroundings. The open air entry breezeway frames a view of the pine trees beyond while providing a covered outdoor space for cooking and hanging out by the indoor/outdoor fireplace.
