Mission Monday 🧡

In 1998, Don was diagnosed with CML. After researching treatment options, he and his partner traveled from Maine to Seattle for treatment at Fred Hutch. A decision Don says “most likely saved my life.”

The years after transplant brought setbacks and uncertainty, forcing Don and his partner to completely redesign their future. Through the difficulties, Don kept moving forward with his love for sailing, adventure, and cycling, which became a life-changing part of his recovery. Now 27 years later, at 74 years old, Don is riding 74 miles through Vermont for Fred Hutch Obliteride. “I remain incredibly grateful”, Don shared.

Every mile he rides fuels groundbreaking research to help cure cancer faster. And no matter where you are, you can be part of the movement too! Ride your bike, walk or run, or choose your own adventure virtually from wherever you are. 🚲 🏃

Bike Everywhere Day was a huge success 🚲🧡

We loved getting to say hi to everyone biking into campus (and everyone cruising by!), sharing more about Fred Hutch Obliteride, and connecting with this incredible community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to hang out, spin the prize wheel, and learn more about Fred Hutch Obliteride.

The momentum is building, and we can’t wait for August.
