Day 2 of the Academy of Osseointegration Annual Meeting 2025 Seattle did not disappoint!

Opening our morning was Dr. Paul Rosen, DMD, MS and Dr. Hom-Lay Wang, DDS, MSD, PhD discussing the consensus statement and the decision tree being released on decreasing risk factors leading to perio-implantitis.

Then Dr. Nimet Adatia, DDS, BSc, MSc talked about delivering esthetic outcomes for our patients utilizing photography and prototypes.

Next up was Dr. Robert Vogel, DDS the in coming president of the academy, discussing the annual meeting changes for this year and next year in Washington DC.

After lunch we spoke with Dr. Homa Zadeh, DDS, PhD about why lateral window sinus augmentation and crestal sinus lifts are a viable solution in achieving long term success.

Then Dr. Arndt Happe, DDS, PhD, and oral surgeon and restoring doctor from Germany, discusses how preoperative prosthetic planning impacts outcomes.

Next was Dr. Paul Fugazzotto, DDS talking about why occlusion matters when it comes to implant dentistry. Should we be placing implants with no respect to airway or bruxism???

We ended our afternoon with Dr. Kristen Richey, DDS, a young 3rd year periodontal resident, discusses the transition to private practice and her future push to stay involved with organizations like the AO.

Day 1 of The Academy of Osseointegration Annual Meeting 2025 was incredible!

Our day started off with Dr. Jörg Neugebauer, DDS, PhD and Dr. Fouad Khoury, DMD, PhD discussing the speaker lineup and ways to make implant dentistry easy.

Next up was Dr. Michael Norton, BDS, FDS, RCS(Ed) talked about the tug of war between science and industry and how bias influences decision making.

Following him was Dr. Armand Bedrossian DDS, MSD, FACP discussing full arch work flows and the importance of analog mindset when we think about digital work-flos. IS digital best?

Then Dr. Georgia Romanos, DDS, PhD and Dr. Clark Stanford, DDS, PhD, MHA covered whether a one abutment-1 time approach is best for implant restorations.

We ended our day with dentists Emil and Dariel who are also a young Rock Cello sensation that gained worldwide exposure on NBC’s America’s Got Talent in 2014. We talked about how to spark passion in young dentists and the value of hard work in creating happiness in life. Also, does being a musician make you a better dentist???
