World Cancer Day 2026 | Saturday February 7 @ 11am
Join the Cierra Sisters and LANGSTON for a powerful World Cancer Day gathering centered on awareness, education, and community for Black women navigating cancer. Inspiring speakers, local vendors, opportunities to connect, and a tribute to Cierra Sisters’ founder, Bridgette Hempstead—plus the signature panel, “The Big Five: Understanding the Cancers Disproportionately Affecting Us — Stories, Strength, and Community.” This conversation will bring together survivors, experts, and advocates to unpack the top five cancers impacting our community.

3. Depth over scale - Choosing fewer, more durable commitments rather than stretching thin to meet rising demand.

4. Community relevance over legacy relevance - Letting present-day needs reshape priorities, even when that means letting go of past models.

5. Care as a core operating practice - Treating rest, reflection, and sustainability as necessary for impact, not optional benefits.
