Dr. Jim Olson will be there discussing the success of Tumor Paint, the scorpion derived drug that's been all over the news lately. After being deemed "too ambitious" for grants, the families of his patients rallied to raise nearly 8 million dollars to fund early research on the drug. The same one that just got FDA approval for US clinical trials last week. What an amazing community we have!

Dan Lewis worked side by side with Kathi for 27 years. They were partners and friends and saw the world unfold from the news desk as they reported news from Seattle and the world. Dan has developed a keen eye for photography over the years and has shared many of his images with viewers via Facebook and Twitter. As Dan retires from the news desk he has agreed to share his images with the Kathi Goertzen Foundation to help raise money for brain tumor research. All of the money raised by the sale of Dan’s photos will go the Kathi Goertzen Foundation. From Dan to Kathi: My favorite photos With only two broadcasts left at KOMO 4 News, Dan Lewis is taking the time to offer one last tribute to his longtime partner and friend, Kathi Goertzen. He's selling prints of favorite pictures he's taken, with all proceeds going towards brain cancer research.

We introduced you to Dean Bullock last year when he was vying for a spot in the Ironman World Championship in Kona - all the while battling stage 4 brain cancer. Sadly, he lost his courageous battle this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Team IronDean.

IronDean passed away peacefully early this morning surrounded by his beautiful eternal companion and 9 children.

We have no doubt he was welcomed by a proud Heavenly Father. We know that we will see him again one day and that this life is not the end. We know that his body and mind are whole again and he is training for his next IRONMAN in heaven.

Thank you for all the love, support, and prayers that have been given to us along this journey. We feel so honored to have been able to share this amazing man with you. He finished his race on this earth IronDean strong and we know he is watching over us from above. We love that he is ours FOREVER. We LOVE you Dad!

Saturday, May 3rd, 31 cyclists participated in Pedal it Forward, a community fundraiser benefitting the Kathi Goertzen Foundation. We’re excited to announce that we raised $10,000 to continue our fight against brain tumors and brain cancer!
