Happy Flag Day! Let’s revisit Riley Raker’s flag redesign for the City of Seattle Government.

Seattle City Flag Redesign Seattle city flag redesign inspired by the Vexillology subreddit, Hello Internet, and Roman Mars. The current Seattle flag was designed by Paul Kraabel and adopted in 1990 for the Goodwill Games.

Signed into law on August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment guaranteed that the right of citizens to vote "shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of s*x." The fight for women’s suffrage was complex and interwoven with issues of civil and political rights for all Americans. National parks across the country share the stories of women who fought for a different future. After the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920, suffragists like Alice Paul knew that their work was not finished. Many women still faced discrimination, but the passage of the 19th amendment was a historic moment of progress with a continuing legacy throughout American history.
