✨What really is positioning and do you have it?✨
A lot of people don’t really know what positioning means. It’s kind of like when people ask you to tell a story and you think “uhh what is a story really?” We can recognize a story when we are watching it or being told one but it can be a lot harder to define it. It’s the same thing with positioning. It’s a term used A LOT, but a book could be written about this single word.
So let’s break it down without writing a novel, shall we?
Positioning is really how we are positioning an offer within the market. It’s your angle in a debate.
I want to ask you 5 questions to get more clear on your own positioning.
✅Who do you want to serve?
An example of this is if you’re helping entrepreneurs you want to identify what level of entrepreneur. Are you helping a 6 figure entrepreneur as opposed to the getting started crowd? This is an important consideration because it will impact the type of content you create.
✅How do you want them to see you?
In some cases you actually have to tell them or they will decide for themselves.
✅Are your offers congruent with your brand and the relevancy you provide?
When I say relevancy I am implying to the type of material that you use to retarget people. We all know that you don’t go to Tiffany's to buy a cheap ring. Your offers should be aligned with your brand and reputation.
✅Where do you want to sit in the market?
Are you trying to get 10,000 clients? Or are you a boutique and only focusing on 10 clients/month? What level of prestige do you offer?
✅What proves that you deserve this?
You have to have the chops to back up the positioning you want to take.
You want to define your positioning statement. Your answers to the above 5 questions will help you define it. An example of a positioning statement for an entrepreneur can be “I help moms build a dependable 10k a month business so they can be at home more, helping others creatively.” Every time you go to post on Facebook you want to ensure that all posts and content match your positioning.
Your positioning statement should
- Develop what you do
- Be specific
- Be short
- Focus on clarity not “cute” words
- Niche, niche, niche
I hope that this has been helpful in helping you either create your positioning or really hone it out. I look forward to answering any questions you my have!

Personally, I enjoy checking the metrics behind an Ads Campaign - as an Ads Strategist, I recognize that this data is the juice that fuels the machine!
So many decisions can be made based on the valuable data collected behind the scenes, so if you’re running ads, it’s crucial to learn how to understand what it all means so that your Ad Spend isn’t wasted money! 💸
They make it seem so easy to run Ads on Facebook(TM), but if you’ve taken a look inside the Ads Manager, you may have found a jumble of charts and numbers - to some, this would be a scary place, but to me this is the most exciting part of running a campaign!
Here are a few metrics to be aware of:
🌟 CTR: Click Through Rate - this measures how many people click “Read More…” on the text of your Ad. For a cold audience, this should be around 1%
🌟 CPM: Cost per 1,000 Impressions - look for $20-30 happy place. If it’s higher than that, you likely have a more competitive audience.
🌟 CPL: Cost Per Lead - this one varies depending on the offer and level of commitment on behalf of the audience. Typically, we like to see $2-4 for a free guide, $5-8 to opt-in to a challenge, and $8-12 for a webinar (depending on the niche).
🌟 CPC: Cost Per Click - averages around $2. If this is high, you may want to tweak the targeting in your audience and do a little market research on your offer.
Understanding these metrics means understanding how well the ads are performing and empowered us to make adjustments to the marketing strategy that optimize campaign results!
I’m curious to know - are you currently running Ads? How do these metrics compare to the results in your Ads Manager? 🧐 After putting so much of your heart and soul into your offer, it’s worth it to learn what these numbers mean for you and your business! Rooting for you! ✨💛
