SURRELL by Chef Aaron Tekulve is a Pacific Northwest driven wine and food destination. Under one roof we showcase an exclusive Washington wine bar open Tuesday through Saturday, a tasting menu experience, a premiere private dining/ catering company and an event space. We focus on giving you a taste of the Pacific Northwest working with local farms, ranches, vineyards, wineries and artisans.

This is Ruben. He was introduced to us by our cook Kyle, and he’s brought an excitement to the kitchen along with a kindness and calm we all appreciate. His work ethic speaks for itself. Excited to have him on the team.

I could not be more proud of the team at Surrell and all of their amazing work. This past week has been one of the most gratifying of my entire career. Going to Chicago for the James Beard Awards James Beard Foundation something out of the dream. To be seen and appreciated for all the work we do, and the unique concept of Surrell is something truly hard to describe. It’s a form of being seen for your craft that I’ve never felt before in anything I’ve done. All I can really say is thank you to my amazing family, friends, this incredible team at Surrell and all of you wonderful guests who join us giving purpose to what we do.

Thank you to the James Beard Foundation for this truly incredible experience, and celebration of our industry. I am positive so many of us now know that we’re not alone in our pursuits both in our craft and running our businesses differently. Having this rare opportunity to meet so many fantastic people and celebrate is something we will all remember for a long time to come.

A massive congratulations to our fellow finalists and the team at Atoma for their hardwork, and to the team at Nodoguro in Portland on the win!

We are so excited for the future and can’t wait to meet you at the table!

Cheers!

Service starts long before the first guest arrives. There’s an hour, just before open, when the room is still and the work is careful and unhurried. Hand-sculpted centerpieces placed, welcome poems set, pairings decanted, first bites ready.
