We want to keep it special. To do this, we conserve land, develop innovative policies, and support sustainable rural and urban development. In our 30-year history, we have helped conserve more than 223,000 acres. Our work reaches from the farmlands and river canyons of Yakima to the estuaries and forests of Washington’s coastline.

What a perfect day!

Sunshine on the prairie with violet- green swallows and bluebirds flying around claiming ownership of the many nesting boxes scattered about the landscape. And the timing could not be more perfect for camas in full bloom.

All of us were excited to hit the trails that led through swaths of violet/blue camas mixed with deep yellow western buttercups. Humming birds laid claim to the orange honeysuckle, participants tasted the nutritious miners lettuce and the thrushes (newly arrived from South America) will soon be feasting on service berries now in full white bloom.

Forterra’s vision is in full bloom too here at Morse Wildlife Preserve.

A precious landscape that contributes to the last 3% of the once vibrant and common prairie ecosystem in Western Washington. As we pondered an enormous 250-300 year-old Garry oak, our guide Gary Mozel inspired us to think about all the history this tree has witnessed and the habitat that it has provided.

And now we steward this vulnerable verdant gem forward for future generations.

Thank you Delta Air Lines for your support.
