Last week's Guest Chef Night was a blast! Chef Kevin Murray from Ray's Boathouse, Cafe & Catering joined us for the first time as head chef, preparing a delectable three-course dinner alongside FareStart students.

From the kitchen to the dining room, he helped students build confidence while serving a menu that gave guests a true taste of Ray’s, including a Roasted Sablefish in Sake Kasu, a signature at Ray’s Boathouse!

A huge thank you to our volunteer servers from BECU, sponsors US Foods and Wells Fargo, and everyone who joined us for the evening.

Our next Guest Chef Nights with Chef Nathan Lockwood of Carrello Restaurant and Altura Restaurant on July 30 and Chefs John Sundstrom & Jordan Hilliard of Lark on August 13 are almost sold out – but there’s still another incredible night coming up that you won't want to miss.

July's FareStart Restaurant lunch special is here, and it's everything we love about summer all on one plate. 🥗

Our grilled peach salad brings together sweet grilled peaches, burrata, mizuna, Castelfranco, heirloom tomatoes, prosciutto, pickled onion, pepitas and a peach balsamic dressing. Every bite celebrates the fresh flavors of the season.

Your lunch does a whole lot of good. Every purchase at FareStart Restaurant directly supports students in our job training programs, where they gain hands-on experience preparing meals that nourish our community.

The FareStart Restaurant, FareStart Café, student training programs and our administrative office will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day.

Some FareStart staff are working behind the scenes to ensure meals are prepared and delivered to community members who need them most. Because of their efforts, meals will continue reaching our community throughout the holiday weekend.
