The title of Honorary Marine is an honor bestowed by the Commandant of the Marine Corps to civilians who have made extraordinary contributions to the . The program began in 1992 and is intended to strengthen the bond between the American people and the Marine Corps. Notable include Chuck Norris, Gary Sinise, and Joe Rosenthal. U.S. Marine Corps poolees and recruits from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, came together for a joint enlistment ceremony during a Seattle Seahawks military appreciation game in Seattle, WA, Nov. 12, 2023!

The swear in was conducted by U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Michelle Smith, the commanding general of 7th Infantry Division on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
