Did you know that when parents are supported to build their own networks of caring friends, families have a better chance to thrive? Plus, when kids in foster care see all the adults in their lives cooperating with each other, they feel less stress. Our Families Building Community Program helps all the important adults in a child’s life bridge the gaps between them to best care for kids while in foster and kinship care, and also before foster care becomes necessary. When everyone in a dependency case works together, kids and families experience less trauma.

We're so grateful that Rep. Emily Randall took time out of her busy schedule to learn about the work of our Pierce County Early Childhood Court, a program helping families experiencing the child welfare system in partnership with Pierce County Juvenile Court.

Had the chance to connect with Pierce County’s Early Childhood Court Program and see firsthand the incredible work they’re doing to support kids and families in our communities.

They’re making a real difference — helping parents get the tools and support they need, and building strong partnerships so families can truly thrive.

So grateful for the work you’re doing every day to show up for our neighbors.

At Amara, we know foster caregivers can change the lives of children and families for the better. When caring people open their hearts and homes to children and teens, they can turn ordinary moments into touchpoints for connection, stability, and hope.
We welcome new foster caregivers from diverse backgrounds and regardless of marital status, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, home ownership, income, or education.
Children and teens in foster care come from many different backgrounds, faiths, and cultures. They range in age from newborns to 21 and have been placed in out-of-home care through no fault of their own. Circumstances beyond their control have resulted in the state removing them from their homes.
