My father was a ship’s carpenter, and the marina was our playground. My brothers and I would race down the dock and leap onto the boat-lift slings, swinging, laughing, far over the water. We swam as toddlers and ventured off in dinghies, rowboats - anything that floated. Time took me inland but I always looked to the water. One day my kids were grown and I hopped on a Laser. I sailed

Proud of you, Jane!
Forgot my parents' anniversary today. Their 65th. Not my finest hour. Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad. I promise an outing, when we can safely go out.

I left Seattle on a lark, enjoyed an amazing winter-summer in South Africa, and returned to a city under siege. Immediately submitted my application to return to the VA and responded to this call in the meantime. It's all beyond reason.
