Ethiopian Civilization: Reflection of Spirit, Becoming, and Healing 06/26/2026

Ethiopian civilization is often reduced to empire, religion, or antiquity. But through my own reflection, and building Deldeyoch, it feels like something far more alive. Not a finished story. A living thread inside a wider African intelligence system that is still shaping how we think today.

Because Africa was never static. Ideas moved. People moved. Knowledge moved. Across kingdoms, trade routes, monasteries, oral traditions, and systems of exchange that long predate modern borders. From the highlands of Ethiopia to the Sahel, from Axumite trade routes to West African centers of learning, circulation, not isolation, has always defined the story. I travelled throughout Ethiopia, most parts of Africa, walked the bible in ancient routes, through indian ocean, red sea & Mediterranean, overlanding continents, curious as my soul needed expansion..

And in 2026, this matters more than ever.
We live in a world where narratives are built at speed — on social media, in academia, in tech, in policy spaces. Entire civilizations can be flattened into keywords in a feed.

So the question becomes urgent:
What does it mean to belong to a civilization that is still unfolding in real time, while also being constantly rewritten by others? And more personally, what kinds of societies were imagined here around power, identity, and the place of women, before modern frameworks tried to define them for us?

The idea of a “utopian woman” keeps returning in my writing. Not as a borrowed concept, but as something possibly already embedded in myth, spiritual authority, and lived memory, waiting to be re-read rather than imported.

I’m not trying to resolve it. I’m trying to stay close enough to hear it properly. Because in a world obsessed with speed, some questions only reveal themselves in depth.
