We develop novel approaches to nanostructures with well-defined size, geometry, and placement. From direct-write to self-assembly, we merge traditional semiconductor fabrication with biological materials to integrate novel electronic (and ionic) devices. These devices are the focus of nanoscale electronic (and ionic) conductivity studies. Potential applications include hybrid electronics, biological transistors, and cell based sensors.
