As the academic year comes to an end, we want to say a big congratulations to PoE graduating senior Brigitte Worstell on her 2026 Bonderman Fellowship award! This is a huge honor -- Brigitte plans to center her travels on an exploration of "how people define fulfillment and success in cultures that emphasize collective well-being and interdependence over individual distinction." We are excited to announce that the Program on the Environment (PoE) is hiring for 2 new faculty positions at the level of Assistant Teaching Professor! PoE's Environmental Studies program centers diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, drawing from the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Successful candidates will contribute to creating a inclusive environment that fosters critical thinking, community engagement, communication, and leadership skills. The Program on the Environment (PoE) is launching the search for our next director, and is seeking input from the program’s campus-wide community in the process. We are hoping that you can support our search by providing feedback in one of two ways: attend a virtual open house, and/or complete this short survey.

These meetings will provide our search committee with vital feedback on our community’s expectations for the role, define the key characteristics and experience of an exceptional director, and identify potential candidates. We welcome feedback from a wide group of constituents: our faculty colleagues, current PoE students and alumni, College of the Environment staff, and members of the public. Drop-ins are welcome (no RSVP needed), and attendance for the full hour is not required.
