Meet Captain Jack!

He was saved from a roadside stand selling campfire logs in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. I loved the knotty, gnarliness of this quarter chunk and it felt special.

As I started to lay paint on the log, he mysteriously emerged and my love of painting 'found wood' began.

Each piece of wood has a spirit inside that appears as I paint it. It’s a wonderful experience and forces me to let go.
