Today, POCAAN stands with a heavy hearts as we grieve the brutal murder of 49 and the senseless shooting of many other this past weekend in Orlando FL. As an organization working tirelessly to promote equality for all, We are extremely saddened by this act of hate and yet we will not give way to fear and intolerance.

We pledge not only to pray for the victims and their families. We also stand even more determined to fight against all injustice, Inequality and especially the terror enacted upon the LGBTQ community because of homophobia, victimization and theological and religious ferocity.

Let this be an eye-opening reminder that attacks on any American, is an attack on all Americans. Regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. The notion that “United We Stand” must one again become a fundamental value of equality and dignity that defines us as a country moving forward.
