This is how I feel about Russia invading Ukraine!

While this poem was written about the devastating fires in Australia in 2020, it captures the sense of helplessness and the almost shame I feel just going about life as if nothing is happening.

I feel like this about every war and pretty much every injustice I see.

But the injustice at this scale hits me hard.

It seems obvious, but it's not easy, and there are many reasons why. To know what brings you the most joy, you have to know yourself. Many people discover that what they thought brought them joy was motivated by what someone else wanted, like a parent or a partner. Others are so driven by their careers or a learned definition of success that they don't tune into themselves enough to hear what makes their hearts sing. Then there are those souls who generously devote their lives to others, not stopping to give breath to their dreams.

No matter who you are, you deserve to experience joy. You only get one life!
