A little owl leaving the nest with dinner in hand… or talon.

This was one of those moments where you sit still, wait, second-guess your life choices, then suddenly nature rewards you with pure theatre. The adult little owl emerged from the nest site carrying its latest catch, wings open, eyes locked forward, and the whole scene came together against this weathered clay wall.

Little owls may be small, but they don’t lack attitude. They hunt insects, small mammals, reptiles, and birds, and when they have young to feed, the workload never really stops.

Fast shutter speeds. Good light. A clean background. And one very serious little predator doing what it does best.

Tiny owl. Big mood.
