After close consultation with our cast and creative team, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our production of In the Heights scheduled to run from February 10, 2022 to February 20, 2022 at Cornish Playhouse due to the rapid community spread of the Omicron variant.
Having spent the past few months preparing for the show with our creative team, production crew, cast, and sponsors, we’re incredibly disappointed, but we believe it is necessary given the continued surge and ongoing disruptions.
We want to thank you for your continued support, and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Ticket holders will be contacted in the coming days as we navigate next steps.
We remain committed and excited to produce this show, and ask for your 'Paciencia y Fe' during this time. We hope to share our new show dates with you all soon.

In the Heights with Seattle Musical Theatre and Latino Theatre projects is hiring for production roles! The schedule of these roles is still to be determined, and can be talked about during your interview. An overview of dates that we do know are below.
The roles that we are hiring for are listed below, with STIPEND INFORMATION. If you are interested in applying please send references and portfolio to [email protected].

Designer Run January 18 (Time TBD)
We are in the theatre 1/31-2/9, and the show opens 2/10. It closes 2/20.
Important Info:
*MOST TECHNICAL JOBS NEED TO BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO 1/31/22 (first day in the Cornish Playhouse)*
Props Designer: $250
*Position starts ASAP
Costume/Makeup Designer: $500
*Prep work to start now, with bulk of work in the new year (January-Feb)
*Background in costumes and makeup is a plus
*Must be able to collaborate and work with artistic team.

In The Heights: A message from our Cast: This isn’t goodbye, but rather: see you soon! As our subscribers might have read through a recent email, SMT’s In the Heights has been postponed until further notice. However, that doesn’t mean that we won’t be back! Here is a message from the cast about what the show means to them, and how this pandemic has affected their lives and their theatre experiences.
An additional message from the Artistic Director, Phil Randall: "The video clips were recorded before the recent events of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter and, therefore, does not directly address those events; we encourage you to use your voices and your art to stand up for what is right and just, as we will, and be safe."

Up next at SMT: In the Heights! Auditions for In the Heights! are 2/29, 3/1, 3/5, & 3/7! In the Heights will run beginning April 30th thru May 10 at the Kelly Ethic Cultural Center.

In The Heights: SMT is looking to hire a choreographer (who can perform in the show if desired), stage manager and assistant stage manager, light designer/operator; sound designer/operator; set designer/crew head; costume designer /wardrobe assistant; musical director familiar with Sinfonia (and possibly plays keyboard) ; musicians (particularly percussion/ rhythm) for its production of IN THE HEIGHTS, to be performed 4/30—5/10 (9 performances total Thursday-Sunday; Actor auditions will be end of February/early March, rehearsals will run from March 16- opening and the show closes 5/10. You will be asked to prepare 16 bars of 2 songs in the style of or from the show and a 30 sec monologue…dance TBD. Watch TPS for additional audition info.
Each position is under an independent contract (W-9) and is required to design (if appropriate) and run the show (or have someone run the show for them), build is necessary and load-in and out.
Also seeking a Technical Director or Production Stage Manager to oversee a smooth transition into and out of the show and aid in whatever technical elements need to be enhanced.
Also seeking a run crew of 2-4 for the run.
Must be free and available from 3/16-5/10.
“In the Heights” will be performed at the Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center & Theatre (ECC).
