They said it couldn't be done. It was impossible. It'd never work. You'll never work in this town again!

Ok, they didn't say all that...but..my client's contractor told them "no" when they asked for a larger kitchen island. The contractor told my clients that if they wanted a larger island they'd have to tear out the old one and replace it with a new one. That seemed too wasteful so we made a plan to expand the existing counter with butcher block! I love creative solutions to keep things out of the landfill. ♻️

The upgraded trash pullout with handless fronts gave extra functionality to the island as well.

I'm glad we didn't listen. Look at what we would be missin' :)

Music promo but still carpentey related! I made this display at Sonic Boom in Ballard to promote my band's album release at Tractor Tavern May 10.

Kitchen project complete! This was a fun project to co-design with the lovely family who wanted to make a smart kitchen/dining area in their small space. Not only does it function well, but it feels bright and spacious.
The exposed edges give a nice contrast to the beautiful walnut and maple wood grain.
