This Spring, we were thrilled to host our first-ever lactation education cohort in Spanish! Hear reflections from our Open Arms Lactation Team about the significance and dedication of this cohort:

This 45-hour, in-person lactation education training—conducted entirely in Spanish—marked a historic achievement for our community. This was a first for our organization, a long-awaited goal finally realized for our Spanish-speaking community.

The room was filled with multicultural representation, with participants from various Latin American countries who enriched the learning experience with their diverse backgrounds, knowledge, and traditions. It consisted of 24 participants committed to the well-being of families—a beautiful blend of mothers, bodyfeeding mothers, doulas, educators, and aspiring IBCLCs.
