9:36 a.m.: Seattle Fire is responding to a hazardous materials incident on the third floor of Denny Hall at the UW's Seattle campus. Avoid the area. More info at alert.uw.edu.

UWPD are responding after an earlier report of a man having displayed a gun inside the ground floor of the Hans Rosling Center for Population Health. The man, described as in his 50s, possibly unhoused and acting erratically, left the building walking north up 15th Ave. NE. This was followed by a report of an individual at a bus stop outside of Schmitz Hall, possibly with a gun. UWPD is responding and located an individual outside of Schmitz who does not appear to be armed. More info as it is available will be shared at alert.uw.edu
