I’m often asked what I did for my own wedding. After planning hundreds of celebrations, I knew I wanted ours to feel intimate and intentional, with less focus on grandeur and more emphasis on creating an intimate experience and carving out intentional time with our friends and family. We spent the weekend in Leavenworth doing all the winter activities!
Our wedding ended up being sandwiched between two deeply traumatic events. In the months leading up to the day, Wes’s sister experienced a serious cardiac event and, thankfully, recovered and was able to be there with us. Five months later, Wes was diagnosed with cancer, a journey we have been navigating for the past two and a half years.
Because of this experience, it gave me a new perspective on weddings. They aren’t just celebrations, they are timestamps. The people in the room are fragile, their presence is not a given, and that shared moment matters more than we often realize. Our wedding became a joyful pause and a memory we hold onto, a reminder of the commitment you make to one another through every season life brings.

Happy 3rd anniversary and this one your are cancer free! 🤍

Planning a church ceremony is different than having your ceremony at an event venue. Each church has its own personality, rules, and additional requirements you will want to account for. Seattle has some breathtaking churches. Check out the blog for what to expect.
