Happy new year friends of years past, and new friends who are just now finding my feed! I haven’t painted for a while (that new baby life really kicks your ass), but when I was asked to do a pet portrait commission for a dear friend of mine of his late pup, Mia, I knew I had to make the time.

I had the pleasure of knowing Mia in her younger years, when she was the official mascot of the office I worked at. A total sweetheart to everyone, incredibly smart, and the most popular girl in town. I hope she’s chasing balls with now! She is so loved and missed. 🥹🌈

This will probably be my last commission for a little while - my baby boy is due in just a couple of weeks! I’m thankful for a chance to paint again in between all of the crazy life planning. Hoping that the hiatus won’t be for too long. For all of the other mamas out there - when do you sneak in your time for creativity?
