📸Swipe for some pictures! The Seattle Trans and Nonbinary Choral Ensemble finished our 2026 spring season. We did our last “What Trans Joy Sounds Like” concert on Vashon Island last Thursday at the lovely . On Friday, we performed at at Volunteer Park.

Finding our communities where we can be ourselves is extremely important. Life can be pretty funky sometimes. That is why we need groups of people who truly care about creating communities that will last in the long term. It was really lovely singing on the ferry, performing with our friends, and hearing from so many of our wonderful soloists one last time (I’m sure we’ll hear from some of them again next season!!)!

Our next big concerts will be for Trans Day of Remembrance in November. We will also have a clothing swap at the end of August - keep your eyes peeled for dates and times. Thank you for making this one of STANCE’s most packed seasons ever!

Trans and nonbinary lives are often spoken about in terms of struggle, loss, or survival. But Seattle Trans and Nonbinary Choral Ensemble is focused on “What Trans Joy Sounds Like" in their performances.

Seattle’s first and only all-trans and nonbinary choir, with more than 100 singers, STANCE provides a vocal community free of gendered expectations, by and for transgender and nonbinary singers. Through music, they create space for changing voices to be authentically embraced, for intersecting identities to be centered, and for singers and audiences alike to connect with their full selves: physical, emotional, and joyful.

The Seattle Trans and Nonbinary Choral Ensemble had our busiest week ever!

Dr. Cee Adamson led our concert series “What Trans Joy Looks Like” and got 57% more ticket sales over last June. People came from all around the Pacific Northwest and watched our livestream.

We got 120 thousand views across media platforms for the K-Pop Demon Hunter arrangement we performed - you can check out our full performance in our bio. We also sang at Benaroya Hall for the third year in a row with Rainbow City Performing Arts, and we were joined by Puget Soundworks.

We were featured in Seattle Gay News and KIRO 7. And, we met some amazing representatives and activists at the No Hate in WA State rally, including Congresswoman Jayapal!

We also had our first ever elected representatives speak at our Seattle concerts. Councilmember Dionne Foster and Alexis Mercedes Rinck both shared incredible words to our singers and our audience - we must work together and find joy amongst all of the tough things that are happening.

Our last shows of the month are on Vashon Island and at Trans Pride - tickets in bio. Thanks for making this the most packed pride month we’ve ever had.
