Welcoming Daniela, our newest strength coach at Misfit Strength Studios! In addition to working at our gym, Daniela is a licensed massage therapist and a performing circus artist. Daniela is now coaching some of our Lift Lab classes and working 1:1 with our personal training clients.

Motivated by making weird art with friends, Daniela came to love movement arts, kinesiology and fitness by way of dancing and theater. They have been practicing dance since 2016 and performing circus arts since 2021.

In learning about circus arts and challenging their body to do more dynamic and athletic endeavors, they found that they were increasingly passionate about understanding how movement works, what makes things easier or harder for different bodies and how to navigate injuries, chronic pain and intersecting pathologies. Daniela branched into massage therapy to learn more and to help people understand their bodies, as well as its movement, as a powerful tool for grounding.

Daniela is excited to work with the diverse population of the Misfit community. They believe the health and wellness industries are rife with systemic injustices and hope to combat that in practice. They are passionate about movement for every body and they believe in health at every size principles. Daniela is an advocate for serving the needs of communities that are often forgotten about in traditional fitness spaces: neurodivergent people, LGBTQIA people and immigrant people, among many other intersections of identities.

They are available to take personal training clients and also offer the ability to train in Spanish with them if you prefer that.

Beyond movement, they are a costume and fiber arts enthusiast, as well as a writer of poetry from time to time. You might see Oreo at Misfit when they are around, their herding pup that exudes the same energy and enthusiasm for playing and cheerleading as Daniela does.
