On this day we solemnly commemorate the 23rd anniversary of 9/11. URBANADD's Founding Partner, Jim Brown, along with longtime friend and sculptor, John Sisko, collaborated in 2015 to create the sculpture entitled "Gateway of Service." The installation stands at the entrance to Fire Station 92 on Mercer Island. The two steel and concrete pillars were the last artifacts from the WTC site given to artists to create public works.

On the journey from New York, the artifacts stopped at fire houses all over the country. John made a point to join the truck in Idaho and usher the artifacts across Washington State.

John Sisko passed away in 2016, but we are forever grateful for this memorable and important collaboration, as well as his friendship.
