June Member Appreciation: Olivia M💛
Olivia brings such an awesome mix of consistency, positivity, and energy into every session. Over the past year, it’s been so fun watching her confidence grow alongside her strength gains. She is the epitome of Core Value #2: Community is Everything: empowering the people around her simply by showing up as herself.
Whether she’s at Queen Anne or Phinney Ridge, Olivia’s infectious energy makes every session better. She’s built genuine friendships within the community, encourages those around her, and brings such a welcoming presence to the gym. We LOVE having her as part of both communities!!
Here’s what Olivia had to say about her experience at SSP:
“I’ve always loved workout classes & strength training, but SSP is easily the best. After trying out many HIIT/Strength classes, I was looking for something more focused on long-term health and fundamentals. SSP customizes every program based on exactly where you’re at, so every session feels purposeful, but also really fun. I always leave feeling like I got the most out of my time. It’s the perfect mix of effective workouts, great energy, and amazing people.
The community is one of the best parts of SSP - I’ve gotten so much closer with my neighbors and built friendships that make it so much fun to go to class every week. The coaches are amazing, they know how to push you while still making it feel welcoming and fun. I am confident that I can go to any session at any of the gyms and receive the same level of knowledge & skill with all coaches.
The workouts are super intentional and they change enough to keep things interesting, without feeling random. It’s personalized to your level, and it’s been a highlight to see how my programs have evolved over the past year based on my growth. There is a huge focus on form, so I’m able to increase my weight or try new exercises safely and with the right skills to do so.
I’m lifting more than I ever have before and seeing consistent progress over time. I can actually see & feel myself getting stronger week to week. I have noticed a big difference in my balance, agility and posture as well!”
We’re so grateful to have you Olivia!⭐️
Greg (our lovely member who left us this Google review) is so right - a lot has changed since we opened SSP back in 2020. But there’s also a lot that hasn’t changed:
Our dedication to building community
Our relentless dedication to our values of inclusivity
That we hire the BEST people 😎
And so much more! 🤘🏻 if you’ve been around since the beginning, what is your favorite thing that HASN’T changed about SSP?
Who are we kidding, who would even want that? 😉
But frankly, that’s been the norm in the gym industry for a long long time:
❌ cookie cutter programs that aren’t individualized or adaptable as you move through the different phases of life
❌ lone wolf attitude and relying only on discipline instead of building a supportive community around you who WANTS to help you succeed
❌ fear mongering or gate keeping around strength training when really EVERYONE can be lifting heavy weights
❌ coaches who are too overworked and burnt out to care (even if they want to)
❌ quick fixes, short extreme challenges, etc.
At SSP we set out to do things differently and now have 1,000+ members strong who are living proof that the method works!

The benefits of strength training go way deeper than aesthetics. Yes building muscle is cool but it’s the changes that go on inside your body that are (we think) the most important!
Three that we think don’t get talked about nearly enough:
🦴 Bone density — we start losing bone density earlier than most people realize. Strength training is the best way to keep your bones strong and dense over time!
🧠 Mental health — lifting builds a kind of confidence and calm that carries into every part of your life. Need proof? Go look at some of our member appreciations, Google Reviews, or testimonials!
😴 Sleep — deeper, more restorative sleep? Yes please. Lifting regulates cortisol and helps your body actually recover the way it’s supposed to!
If you’re mainly lifting for the way it makes you look, zero judgment! Everyone is welcome at SSP. But for most of our members, strength training is about the life it helps them live and health and longevity!
