A convention of fat robins partaking of the heated birdbath while the temperature is well below freezing. Bird heaven around here, with 6 bird feeders.

Our 110 year-old apple tree is the centerpiece of the back yard, and the source of the name. It had grown waaay too tall and overloaded ['before' picture]. Patrick of Grun Tree Care and his crew did a LOVINGLY, thorough pruning to bring it back to a size that won't jeopardize it breaking itself in a wind or snow storm [after pic]. He has taken it on as his 'project' and the quality of the work shows. Highly recommended, particularly for heritage tree preservation. PS: Trussing cables to be upgraded shortly.

If only there were Smell-O-Vision on smart phones... These are highly fragrant roses -- and pretty proud of themselves at the moment. You can smell them from 10 feet away. 😊
