It was the Professional Golfer’s Association of America (P.G.A.) who founded the first National Golf Month back in August 1993. The purpose of this was to promote golf as a family-friendly and inclusive sport that could be accessible to all ages, genders, and skill levels. Initially, the P.G.A. used to host an annual charity event on National Golf Day (which falls on a different day each year), and due to the success of this, they decided to make the entire month a promotion and celebration of the sport.

🏌️ We've had a great response for the first-ever Goose Creek City Amateur Golf Tournament, as nearly 60 golfers have registered! The 36-hole tournament will take place Saturday and Sunday, July 15-16, here at Crowfield Golf Club. The inaugural event includes a Friday practice round, and will be limited to 120 golfers.
