We want to sincerely thank our network of supporters for helping WASE Forward advance Substitute Senate Bill 5114 into law, which was signed by Governor Jay Inslee last week! The bill will provide additional funding for culturally responsive and survivor-centered services that will benefit adults who have experienced s*x trafficking in Washington.
We could not have done this important work without the advocacy of each person who contacted or met with their legislators to support this bill! Thank you for believing in our mission promote policies and practices that enhance support and justice for people with lived experience of s*x trafficking and s*xual exploitation.

WASE Forward is proud to work to increase funding in Washington state for culturally informed survivor-designed services, including support, advocacy, housing, employment, and legal services. Last week, SB 5114 was passed in the house and is heading to the Governor's desk! If signed, it will provide millions in funding for a network of culturally informed services for adult survivors. Through Goodwill's partnership with Lyft, eligible participants can access free rides to and from weeklong job training courses, one-time job interviews, or the first two weeks of a new job. Learn more about how they are helping job seekers take the next step in their careers. Many survivors of human trafficking have transportation difficulties getting to and from jobs and job interviews. Please share this resource to anyone you think may need it!
