The Battle of Balakot was fought between the forces of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and Syed Ahmad Barelvi in Balakot, Mansehra District on 6 May 1831. Barelvi declared jihad against the Sikhs and established a camp in Balakot. Along with Shah Ismail Dehlvi and his tribesmen, he attacked the Sikhs at dawn. The battle lasted all day. Despite all the battles the city is a forever green piece of heaven enticing people to visit it again and again!⁠

What do you feel when everything around you is very silent? When there are no cars, no voices, no hustle and bustle of everyday life?
For me, the silence is the best thing about coming to the great outdoors of stark, beautiful Balochistan. In some areas near Hingol National Park and Lasbela region, the first thing you would probably notice is the absolute silence. There’s not even an animal sound. The silence is so profound that you can hear ringing in your ears, because they are not accustomed to this heightened level of quiet. For me, it’s like any clutter in my mind just flies away and I feel light and anew.

Next time you visit this area, be sure to just sit with the silence. If you’re spiritual or religious, places like these are always the best to connect with the Creator. It’s a refreshing and wholesome experience. ✨ "
