Life has a way of moving quickly, and certain changes, whether expected or not, can affect your health insurance coverage in ways that aren't always obvious at the moment.

Some life events trigger a Special Enrollment Period, a 60-day window before or after the event during which you can enroll in or update your coverage outside the standard Open Enrollment Period. If any of the following have happened in your household over the past year, it may be worth a conversation:

🔵Getting married, divorced, or welcoming a new child into your family
🔵Moving to a new ZIP code, county, or state
🔵Turning 26 and coming off a parent's plan, or losing job-based coverage
🔵Changes in your income or household size
🔵Turning 65 and becoming eligible for Medicare, or becoming a U.S. citizen

If anything on that list sounds familiar, we'd love to connect to see how we can help you during a Special Enrollment Period. Give our team a call, and we can get started.

Good afternoon all

A large percentage of bankruptcies in the United States are directly related to medical issues, not necessarily the medical bills themselves. If you’re out of action because of injury or illness your ability to earn income can be impacted.

I have been asked a lot lately about insurance that helps supplement health insurance plans. There is a lot out there and I’m going to touch on just a few.

First, there is accident insurance. Fairly low cost and is there to provide cash if you have a personal injury. Can be practically any type of injury as long as seek medical attention for it. I have used mine for broken ankle, cuts that needed stitches, even strained muscle from lifting. Very versatile and affordable.

Critical illness with cancer. This can supply an infusion of cash if/when your have a critical illness diagnosis. This money can really help with living expenses while you’re dealing with the situation.

Hospital indemnity plans can provide money to help pay your cost shares associated with your health insurance.
