I was looking at 28 quarts of strawberries in my kitchen, and said to myself, "What now?"
I remembered my grandmother, Viola Severino, making strawberry-rhubarb jam with me when I was about 8, and thought it would be noce to honor her memory by making jam. The next think you know, I was bit by the jam bug, and no fruit was safe from being smashed and made into jam. My first year I made 400+ jars
The chickens enjoyed some diced peaches this morning... which jam flavor do you reach for to remind you of summer?
Brrrrr... Extra cold mornings call for slow cooked oatmeal with a swirl of blueberry lemon jam in it!
